Share bikes with the Library and Summit Bike Share.
The Library has partnered with the Ohio Erie Canalway Coalition and their exciting initiative, Summit Bike Share. This program is aimed at promoting bicycles as both a practical mode of transportation and a source of recreational joy within our community. Explore our city on two wheels with ease and convenience. Bikes are available at the Library from May through October.
Please note the following when borrowing a bike from the Barberton Public Library: A valid state ID and cellphone number are required. Borrowers must be 18 years or older. Younger riders must be accompanied by an adult. Bikes may be borrowed for up to three hours and must be returned either one hour before the Library closes or one hour before sunset, whichever is earliest. Bikes are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and cannot be reserved. The Summit Bike Share agreement must be signed.

Summit Bike Share is Summit County’s free bicycle share system, with 40 bikes available at nine stations across Summit County. Summit Bike Share stations are conveniently located in the heart of downtown Akron and downtown Barberton, all within a short distance of shops, restaurants, businesses, and the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Operated by the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition, Summit Bike Share provides an accessible, eco-friendly, and healthy method of transportation for residents and visitors of Summit County.
