Early Literacy:  Talking is one of the five simple practices that help young children get ready to read.  Make sure your little one has lots of opportunities to talk with you, even if they are not yet forming words, but babbling instead.  Respond to what your child says and follow his or her lead.  Answer your child’s questions as completely as possible.  Your explanations help your child learn more about the world.
