Get a library card! 
Your Library is more than free books! By getting a library card at the Barberton Public Library, you will get access to free services and resources. This card will help you read, discover, and create!

Getting your library card is easy. If you live, work, attend school, or own property in Ohio, you’re eligible! Stop into the Library at the Customer Services Desk to fill out an application. Or fill out the form below and bring it to the Library to get your card registered. For more information on your current card status, contact us at 330-745-1194 option 1. 

The Barberton Public Library is a member of CLEVNET, which means the Library accepts library cards from other CLEVNET member libraries, and we will not issue duplicate cards to current cardholders. So, if you have a library card anywhere from Cleveland to Stow, we’ll accept your card here!

Library Card Options
At the Barberton Public Library, we have a few options for library cards. Read the descriptions below to see which best suits your needs. 

Card Type Requirements
Standard CardsGet access to all circulating materials, digital assets, and public computers.
  • Individual applicants must be 16 or older. 
  • Must provide photo ID, current address, and date of birth. 

    •  Acceptable forms of photo ID: a valid driver's license, state identification card, passport, or military ID. 

    A parent or legal guardian must accompany applicants under the age of  16 and/or minors 16 or older who do not possess an acceptable photo ID.

Access CardsBorrow up to three print materials owned by the Barberton Public Library. Gain access to the Library's digital assets, and public computers. This option is available for any applicants who are unable to qualify for a stand card or applicants under the age of 18 whose standard card has been blocked. 
  • Must provide your name, birth date, and a form of contact information. 

Standard cardholders over the age of 18 are not eligible for an access card regardless of account status. 

Teacher Cards

These cards are available to those who are an educator in public, private, or homeschool setting. Those who are a caregiver at a commercial or private preschool, daycare, or functions as a group leader in a youth organization or educational entity, are also eligible. This card has all of the perks of a standard card with the addition of extended loan periods. As well as the option of having library staff compile book collections for any grade level or topic.   • Must have a standard library card in good standing. 
    • Applicants can apply for both cards at the same time. 
  • Show a photo ID. 
eCardsGet access to the Library's digital assets only. Cardholders with any other CLEVNET library card are not eligible for this option. 

Renewing a Library Card

After a extended period of time, your library card may expire. The Library needs to verify and update your account information. To renew your library card, stop by the Library or contact us at 330-745-1194 option 1. Or click this link to renew your card online. Online renewals are only valid for one year, you must contact the Library for a longer renewal period. 

Cardholder Responsibility
All Library cardholders are responsible for reporting any changes in their account information in a timely manner. All library cards issued by the Barberton Public Library must be renewed periodically so the Library can confirm the accuracy of the account information. Fradulent use of a library card is not permitted and may result in expulsion from the Library or revocation of borrowing privileges.
